Soldiers in Silloth News
In 2019 we opened our third room with lots of new items including a number of Wild West figures and buildings loaned by a local artist. Lovers of “The Magnificent Seven” and Clint Eastwood's spaghetti westerns will be fascinated.
And we have taken responsibility for a large and varied collection of figures belonging to a local Cumbrian enthusiast who had visited our museum shortly before his death.
We still offer group programmes for school visitors based on World War 1. Learning includes investigating a timeline to put the war into its historical perspective, hands-on time with toy soldiers to study uniforms, weapons and equipment and a replica of part of a trench. We also have some replica uniforms and headgear for students to try on.
